Becoming and staying Staff at the Golden Aurora
The Golden Aurora is a roleplay stronghold that was established in 2014. While it has always been accessible since then, we were not putting any effort into keeping it staffed. Recently, we have decided to breathe new life into the location. We have created a discord server in order to facilitate RP, and since doing so the stronghold has seen dramatically renewed activity. So much so that it has become a bit more than we can or want to handle on our own. That said, we are now looking for more roleplayers interested in creating the experience of a luxury hotel and restaurant in SWtOR.
We are accepting role-players of all experience levels so long as they can fit in within the lore of the establishment. Our staff are not world crushers and war heroes, they are ordinary people looking for work. We require all staff to be part of the guild; we are not taking on RPers who simply want to moonlight when they’re bored. As such, we suggest applying with an alt. We want the guild tags to be recognized right away as members of the staff while inside the stronghold
Existing on both fractions, the guilds <Golden Aurora> (Imperial) and <The Golden Aurora> (Republic) are business themed heavy-roleplay guilds. Their members represent the staff that run the business. We are currently taking applications for Bartender and Waitstaff positions within the establishment.
The application process is simple, just visit the “Career” channel in the Golden Aurora discord and follow the instructions pinned at the top. Once completed, an admin will contact you to coordinate an IC interview.
Whom and What are we looking for?
Tolerance and ability to deescalate unpleasant situations
There are a lot of roleplayers who have had their first roleplay experience at the Golden Aurora, or who delved deeper into roleplay after visiting it. While most of those new roleplayers are eager to learn and will just do their best to copy the behavior of the roleplayers around them, there are some people who are more eager to get attention. Sudden fights and blatant ignorance of the rules can and does happen. We expect our staff to be able to kindly remind the violators of the rules and to send us a screenshot of the misbehavior of the roleplayers in question. Enforcement of the rules is not the responsibility of the staff. Warn, observe and report. Administrators will handle repeat offenders.
Willingness to roleplay the standards of the Golden Aurora
The Golden Aurora is a luxury establishment, hence your character needs to be dressed well during their shift. The items from the social vendor on Dromund Kaas and Coruscant are completely acceptable. While we do not have a strict dress code, we expect formality and elegance in your wardrobe while on the clock.
We all have come across clumsy wait staff in our real life. There is no reason not to play a character who is clumsy. With that in mind we would like you to consider two things. First, roleplayers come to the Golden Aurora to experience a high level of service. Second, be aware that your character will most likely be reprimanded by their superiors for their behaviour and in the worst case might be terminated from employment. Keep in mind, we are not opposed to this sort of thing, just that we’re treating the guild like a job on which your performance depends.
Hiring process
Ideally, we would like potential members who might be interested in serving to have visited the establishment as a customer first in order to get an idea as to how we perform. It is a good way for people to know what they’re getting into and it is less complicated to provide an example of the type of RP you can expect. We’ve found that most people have at least one character who might find themselves at a place like the Golden Aurora. If you like what you see and wish to be part of if, go ahead and fill out an application in order for us to set up an IC interview with the character you wish to bring into the guild.
